BMW 5 F10 in G30 M5 or G60 style: next-gen facelift – what’s included and is it worth it?

The BMW 5 Series F10 (2010–2016) can be converted to the G30 M5, M5 CS or G60 look with a facelift kit: the bumpers and lighting change, while the body shell, interior and mechanicals remain from the F10. DD Tuning’s catalog offers GBT kits for this: “to G30 M5”, “to G30 M5 CS” and “to G60”. Below is what is known about the contents, how these generations differ from the F10, and what you should clarify before ordering.

How the F10 differs from the G30 and G60
The F10 sedan was presented in Munich on November 23, 2009, series production began on January 7, 2010, and the updated version (LCI) went into production in July 2013. Its successor, the G30, was shown on October 12, 2016; BMW presented its facelift in May 2020 — with new bumpers, headlights and taillights with L-shaped daytime running lights, and a wider grille. The current G60 generation was shown by BMW on May 24, 2023, with production starting on July 21, 2023 in Dingolfing. A “facelift across a generation” means taking exterior parts from a newer model while keeping the F10 as the base.
| Parameter | F10 (sedan) | G30 (sedan) | G60 (sedan) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wheelbase | 2968 mm | 2975 mm | 2995 mm |
| Length | 4899–5039 mm depending on the body | 4936–4963 mm | 5060 mm |
| Width | 1860 mm | 1858–1868 mm | 1900 mm |
| Height | 1460 mm | 1479–1498 mm | 1515 mm |
The difference in dimensions points to the main thing: the G30 is close to the F10 in proportions, so the “G30 style” on an F10 looks natural. The G60 is about 97 mm longer and 33 mm wider than the G30, so the F10 silhouette with a G60 body kit remains an F10 silhouette — only the “face” and rear end change.
What’s included in the “to G30 M5” and “to G30 M5 CS” kit
For F10/F11 model years 2010–2016, the catalog includes two kits for the G30 M5 look. The M5 in the G30 body carries the factory code F90: it is the BMW M5 with a 4.4-liter V8 producing 591 hp, introduced in August 2017. The M5 CS is a limited series for 2021, 635 hp and 1100 units worldwide, according to BMW.
- Facelift kit to G30 M5 CS, 2021 (GBT, China). The product page explicitly lists the contents: LASER-type front headlights, front grille, front and rear bumpers complete, exhaust tips, side skirts (2 pcs.), two fenders, hood, rear taillights, and mounting hardware and plastics. Installation type: “fits in factory locations”.
- Facelift kit to G30 M5, 2021 (GBT, China, “fits in factory locations”). The product page does not list the contents, so for the lighting, hood and fenders you need to уточнювати with the manager — do not assume the set is the same as in the CS kit.
The bumpers in these kits are made of polypropylene (PP). All body parts are supplied for painting, so the color is matched to your car at the body shop.
Is it worth doing an F10 in the G60 style
The “Facelift kit to G60” (GBT, China, “fits in factory locations”) is the boldest option. The G60 design is radically different: BMW describes the front end as a modern interpretation of the twin headlights and kidney grilles, with two almost vertical LED elements in the headlights and an illuminated grille as an option. This is not a “next version” of the F10, but a different design language. The kit contents are not listed on the product page, and headlights and a G60-style grille are the most complex part to coordinate. If you want a modern look rather than sport styling, first ask the manager for photos of completed cars and a list of parts.
How the simpler alternative differs — M5 Power
If you do not need a “generation jump”, but want an M5 look for the F10, there is the body kit with V1 fenders (M5 Power). According to the product page, it includes side skirts, M5-style muffler tips (2 pcs.), M5-style front fenders (2 pcs.), and M5-style front and rear bumpers. Headlights, hood and grille are not listed on the product page — this is “M5 for the F10”, not a conversion to another generation. Other options for the F10 are in the body kit sets section.
What will not change after installation
A facelift kit changes the appearance, not the hardware. The engine, transmission, suspension, interior, multimedia and electronics remain from the F10. According to managers’ discussions, in kits converting to the G30 style, the doors, handles, mirrors, roof, glass and trunk lid remain stock; the rear fenders and trunk lid are also stock. Always verify the contents of a specific set against the product page. The general logic of a facelift is explained in the article “Car facelift: meaning, necessity and types”.
What to check before ordering
- Year and body. The product pages are intended for BMW 5 Series F10/F11 2010–2016. Pre-facelift cars (before July 2013) and facelift cars have different bumpers, fog lights and rear taillights — send the manager photos of the front and rear along with the VIN.
- Lighting. Headlights and taillights from the kit may require repinning, coding, or work by an auto electrician; confirm this before ordering.
- Sensors and camera. Parktronic sensors, the camera and the adaptive cruise control radar, if your car has them, must be coordinated separately.
- Exhaust. The rear bumper is selected to match your exhaust (single, dual-sided, or quad-pipe).
- Painting. Parts are test-fitted before painting, gaps are set, and only then are they painted.
All kits are available in the facelift kits for BMW F10 section; for the rest of the model’s products, see the BMW 5 Series F10/F11 page. The kit can be installed at DD Tuning’s network of certified service centers — the manager will suggest the nearest one.

How to Choose and Install a Facelift Kit for BMW F10
- Determine the body and year
- Make sure it is an F10 (sedan) or F11 (station wagon) from 2010–2016. For cars before and after July 2013, send the manager photos of the front and rear ends and the VIN.
- Choose the style
- G30 M5 and M5 CS are the sporty M5 bumpers; the G60 is a completely different design language of the modern 5 Series. For comparison, ask for photos of finished cars.
- Clarify the kit contents
- Ask whether the headlights, taillights, hood, fenders, side skirts, and grille are included. In the item card for the “G30 M5 CS” the contents are specified; for the rest of the kits, уточнюйте.
- Agree on lighting and electronics
- Find out whether headlight repinning and coding are needed, as well as what to do with parking sensors, the camera, and the exhaust.
- Try it on before painting
- In the service, the parts are installed without paint, the gaps are aligned, and then they are painted and the lighting coding is completed.
