Geely EX2: China’s best-selling EV comes to Europe – size, battery, price

Geely EX2 is a 4.1-meter electric rear-wheel-drive hatchback that is sold in China as the Geely Xingyuan and in 2025 became the country’s best-selling “green” car: more than 465,000 vehicles sold. In autumn 2026, the model entered Europe: in the United Kingdom—as the EX2 with prices from £20,990; in Germany and Italy—as the Geely E2 from around €20,000. LFP batteries of 35 or 47 kWh deliver 252 or 345 km on the WLTP cycle, and its main rivals are the Renault 5 E-Tech and the BYD Dolphin Surf.

What the Geely EX2 is and why it is the best-seller in China
In China, the model debuted in September 2024 under the name Xingyuan (“starry wish”). It is a five-seat B-segment hatchback on the GEA (Global Intelligent New Energy Architecture) platform—the same one Geely uses for its new EVs, including the Galaxy E5 crossover (in Europe—EX5). In 2025, 465,775 Xingyuan units were sold in China, and the model topped the electrified-vehicle ranking, beating even the Tesla Model Y. Over the first five months of 2026, another 160.8k were added, taking total production past 600k vehicles.
The secret of its popularity is simple: in its home market, the starting price is the equivalent of under €9,000, and for that money the buyer gets a larger cabin than most peers and a big 14.6-inch screen. Outside China, the model is already sold from Brazil and Mexico to Australia and South Africa, and in Malaysia it is launching as the Proton eMas 5.
What the Geely EX2’s dimensions are and how much space it has inside
The EX2 is 4,135 mm long, 1,805 mm wide (without mirrors), 1,580 mm tall, with a 2,645 mm wheelbase. That makes it slightly longer than the Renault 5 E-Tech and noticeably wider than a typical city hatchback. The wheels are pushed out to the corners of the body, and the second-row floor is flat, so there is enough legroom for adults in the back (Geely quotes 890 mm).
- Trunk: 375 L; with the rear seatbacks folded (40:60)—1,320 L. That is about 50 L more than the Renault 5.
- Front trunk (frunk): 70 L under the hood—handy for the charging cable.
- Storage under the trunk floor: another 28 L.
- Small-item storage: the manufacturer counts 36 storage compartments, including a 10 L pull-out drawer in front of the passenger.
On the outside, the EX2 is recognizable by its headlights and taillights with a feather-pattern design, semi-flush door handles, and 16-inch alloy wheels. According to Geely, the adaptive LED headlights illuminate the road up to 170 m. At the rear there is a spoiler above the glass and a tailgate that, on the top version, opens with an electric drive.
Battery, range, and charging in the Geely EX2
For Europe, the EX2 is offered with two lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries and an electric motor on the rear axle. For the UK market, it is Geely’s first rear-wheel-drive model.

| Power | 60 kW (82 hp) | 85 kW (116 hp) |
| Torque | 150 N·m | 150 N·m |

From a home or public AC charger, the UK version charges at up to 6.6 kW. There is V2L: the car can power external devices up to 3.3 kW—a kettle, a tool, or lighting at a cottage. Official consumption in the European cycle is 15.5–15.9 kWh per 100 km.
The suspension is McPherson up front and multi-link at the rear; brakes are discs on all wheels (front ventilated).
Trims and how much the Geely EX2 costs
Even the base Pro comes with a 14.6-inch touchscreen running the Flyme Auto interface, an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, keyless entry, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane keeping, blind-spot monitoring, and seven airbags, including a central one between the front seats. The Max differs with a larger battery and a more powerful motor. The Ultra adds a 360-degree camera system with a “transparent chassis” function, heated front seats and steering wheel, wireless phone charging, 256-color ambient interior lighting, six speakers, a power tailgate, and two-tone paint.
Official UK on-the-road prices are £20,990 (Pro), £23,490 (Max), and £25,490 (Ultra); the white interior costs £200, and metallic paint costs £600. The warranty in the United Kingdom is 8 years or 125,000 miles (about 200,000 km) for both the car and the traction battery. In Germany, according to VISION mobility, the E2 starts at €19,990 (Pro), €23,990 (Max), and €26,990 (Ultra).
When and where the Geely EX2 is sold in Europe
Geely’s UK division announced prices on 15–16 July 2026 and opened orders on 25 August—at which point the model also appeared in dealer centers. In continental Europe, the model is called the Geely E2: in Germany, reservations opened in summer and the first deliveries were planned for the end of September 2026; in Italy and Spain, sales are also scheduled to start in autumn. Euro NCAP has not tested the model yet—Geely only states that it was developed with five stars in mind (the larger EX5 and Starray received five stars in 2025).
The main rivals in Europe are the Renault 5 E-Tech, BYD Dolphin Surf, Citroën ë-C3, MG4 Urban, and Kia EV2. The British press is broadly aligned in its assessment: the EX2 is spacious and practical, well equipped for the money, but not especially engaging to drive. An important context point: in 2026, Geely and Ford agreed on a joint venture at Ford’s Almussafes (Valencia) plant, where Geely models are also planned to be produced from 2028—so the brand is taking Europe seriously.
There are no official sales of the Geely EX2 in Ukraine yet, so cars that appear on our roads will be privately imported from China (Xingyuan) or from Europe.
What accessories will fit the Geely EX2
We do not yet have model-specific accessories for the EX2 in our catalog: the model is new, and patterns have not been taken for it yet. So the honest option at the start is universal items that do not require precise matching to the body. For other models of the brand, there is a dedicated Geely tuning section.
- Cabin floor mats.Universal mats with a high lip hold water and snow—this is the first line of protection for the floor from moisture and salt. We make model-specific EVA mats for particular bodies, and there are none for the EX2 yet.
- Trunk mat. The 375 L trunk floor is flat, so a polyurethane mat in the right size will sit without gaps—choose the size by measurement.
- Mud flaps. On the EX2, the rear wheels are close to the corners of the body, and dirt gets thrown onto the rear bumper and sills. Universal mud flaps cover this area.
- Window deflectors. Deflectors attach to the shape of specific doors, so there are no universal ones; there are no model-specific ones for the EX2 yet—see the range for other cars in the window deflectors section.
