What Opel Corsa GSE is
GSE is the badge for high-performance electric Opels. The Corsa GSE is the second model to wear it after the Mokka GSE. It is a front-wheel-drive hatchback based on the current generation Corsa, shown alongside the final design of the GSE 27FE Formula E car; for more on the interior, see the review of the main Paris premieres. According to the electric-focused outlet electrive, it is the “last powerful representative” of the current Corsa generation, with a replacement expected around 2028.
The main rival is a corporate cousin, the Peugeot E-208 GTi: technically, it is almost the same car with the same 281 hp output.

What was changed in the chassis and brakes
For the GSE, Opel reworked the suspension: a lowered sport setup, bespoke axles, anti-roll bars and hydraulic bump stops, plus steering and pedals calibrated separately. Brakes are four-piston Alcon with yellow GSE calipers. Wheels are 18-inch tri-spoke, with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres.
The mechanical Torsen limited-slip differential is the key difference from the regular Corsa Electric: without it, 281 hp on the front axle would simply be burned off in wheelspin. There are Sport, Normal and Eco modes and an active sport sound that changes with speed and load; it can be switched off. In electrive’s first test, the driver praised the car’s stability and predictability, and the brake pedal remained consistent after repeated stops.
What the Corsa GSE looks like outside and inside
The launch car is finished in Kontur White metallic with a black roof, black mirror caps and a black rear spoiler. It features a separate front bumper, a sharper rear one, and black cladding with contrasting inserts along the lower body and wheel arches.
Inside are sport seats trimmed in Alcantara with checkered inserts in black, grey and yellow, yellow seat belts, an Alcantara steering wheel, and aluminium pedals. There is a configurable digital instrument cluster, a 10-inch touchscreen, heated seats and steering wheel, a 180° rear-view camera, adaptive cruise control, keyless entry, and V2L—powering external devices from the battery.
How much it costs and what to compare it with
| Parameter | Opel Corsa GSE | Peugeot E-208 GTi |
|---|---|---|
| Power / torque | 207 kW (281 hp) / 345 Nm | 207 kW (281 hp) / 345 Nm |
| 0–100 km/h | 5.5 s | 5.5 s |
| Battery | 54 kWh (51 usable) | 54 kWh (51 usable) |
| Price in Germany according to electrive | from €39,900 | from €44,990 |
The recommended price in Germany starts at €39,900 including VAT; the regular Corsa Electric starts at €31,490. Opel notes that for a difference of a few thousand euros, the customer gets almost twice the electric power. In France, the Peugeot E-208 GTi costs around €45k; the Volkswagen ID. Polo GTI is around €39k, but weaker.
Downsides noted by electrive: a tight rear seat, a small 267 l trunk, no auto-hold and no steering-wheel paddles, only two levels of recuperation. Real-world consumption in the test was 19.8 kWh/100 km, i.e. about 260 km instead of the claimed 374, and a 100 kW peak charge rate is modest for 2026. Opel has not announced delivery timing for Ukraine.
How the Corsa GSE drives and what the real-world range is like
Electrive journalists who drove the Corsa GSE call it lively and obedient: the front axle does not lose traction on corner exits thanks to the Torsen, and the brakes handle repeated stops well. The electric motor’s sound is complemented by an artificial sport sound that can be switched off.
The claimed 374 km WLTP is a laboratory figure. In the test, average consumption was 19.8 kWh/100 km, which with 51 kWh usable gives around 260 km. That is enough for city driving and trips to the countryside; for longer highway travel, you need to plan charging stops: 20–80% in 27 minutes at a 100 kW peak is a result the journalists consider weak for 2026. A separate plus is the bidirectional charger: via V2L, you can power a power tool or a laptop from the battery, like when camping.
What to choose for a Corsa F owner
For the Corsa F there is a dedicated accessories catalog: interior floor mats (there are sets for the electric version), window deflectors, and a universal spoiler for those who want to подчеркреслити the sporty look. Before ordering, check the body version and drive type against the product card.
